The
Master in Finance (MIF), established in 1999 is a Master of Science
Degree Program in Finance. The Program, conducted in English, provides
a unique learning experience stemming from both distinguished Thammasat
faculties and visiting faculties experience stemming from abroad,
with the aim of equipping graduates with 'breadth and depth' knowledge
in Finance. The MIF is therefore best suited for individuals who
are interested in enhancing their knowledge of advanced modern financial
theory and practice, and developing skills which could be applied
in the workplace after graduation.
The MIF program is an evening and weekend
program with a trimester academic year allowing students
to complete the program within a minimum of six semesters. Lecturer
are conducted on Tuesday and Thursday evenings
from 06:00 p.m. - 09:00 p.m. and Saturday from 09:00 a.m. - 04:00
p.m.
The contents and curriculum of the program have been designed to
fully integrate advanced in-dept financial theory to practice. Theoretical
background is introduced and quantitative methods are taught through
a carefully coordinated sequence of modules and tightly, linked
to exercises and case studies. A primary feature of the program
is economic method and its application in the evaluation of financial
markets and its use in doing empirical research with financial market
data. Students are required to complete 45 credits by selecting
either plan A (Thesis) or plan B (Non-Thesis).
Qualified MIF students are encouraged to participate in the Student
